Exibition: PLOTS AND THIN WEAVINGS
In presenting the most recent works by Donatella Baruzzi, specially created for this exhibition event, I believe it is important to underline the happy balance achieved between technique and invention, between form and sign, between classic and modern.
It’s evident in these works the background of the artist: a refined ceramist who from time to time reinvents the specific language of the material, turning it to new expressive results
Love for work and artisan knowledge, made of precision, attention to the smallest details, untiring dedication that is realized in works that are only apparently fragile but, on the contrary, rich in their intrinsic strength
And this force comes naturally as a need for clarity in the sober layout, in the delicate chromatic relationships, in the subtle play of materials that dialogue in textures, weaves and thin thickness
The great tradition of glazed ceramics is combined with painting and new languages, and there is all that industrious, feminine attention, in combining fragments, marking with thread, embroidering as to better fix simple and natural concepts
Yes, because, as already mentioned in connection with the numerous exhibitions of Donatella Baruzzi, nature is the theme of constant inspiration, the encyclopedic alphabet of forms and textures, vital and creative energy.
Nature that reveals itself in different forms, recalling itself in its founding structures and revealing symbolisms more or less hidden drawing on ancient knowledge and Jungian archetypes. In the most recent works Donatella inserts alphabetic letters to compose words, suggestions, perhaps titles.
It is not a question of a form of visual poetry or a reflection, even a late one, on the relationship between reality and its representation: writings, plots, forms are given as writing on the page and contribute to the definition of “everything”, of the ‘exemplum, even as artifact, encyclopedic sample, allegorical scheme or other. Textures and subtle weaves that speak of a fragile and quiet beauty, recalling us to a silent reading, open to the poetic charm. The awakening of nature, the awakening of consciousness. Lifeblood.

Mostra: TRAME E SOTTILI INTRECCI
Nel presentare le opere più recenti di Donatella Baruzzi, appositamente realizzate per questo evento espositivo, credo sia importante sottolineare il felice equilibrio raggiunto tra tecnica ed invenzione, tra forma e segno, tra classico e moderno.
Risulta evidente in questi lavori la formazione dell’artista: ceramista raffinata che di volta in volta reinventa il linguaggio specifico della materia piegandola a nuovi esiti espressivi. Amore per il lavoro e il sapere artigianale, fatto di precisione, cura dei minimi dettagli, dedizione instancabile che si realizza in opere solo apparentemente fragili ma, anzi, ricche di una loro forza intrinseca. E questa forza scaturisce naturale come esigenza di chiarezza nell’impaginazione sobria, nei delicati rapporti cromatici, nel gioco sottile di materiali che dialogano in trame, intrecci e sottili spessori.
La grande tradizione della ceramica smaltata si sposa con la pittura e nuovi linguaggi, e c’è tutta quella attenzione operosa, femminile, nell’accostare frammenti, segnare col filo, ricamare come a voler fissar meglio concetti semplici e naturali. Sì, perché, come più volte ricordato a proposito delle numerose esposizioni di Donatella Baruzzi, la natura è tema di ispirazione costante, alfabeto enciclopedico di forme e trame, energia vitale e creatrice.
Natura che si svela sotto forme diverse, si richiama nelle sue strutture fondanti e che rivela simbolismi più o meno nascosti attingendo a saperi antichi e archetipi junghiani. Nelle opere più recenti Donatella inserisce lettere alfabetiche a comporre parole, suggestioni, titoli forse.
Non si tratta qui né di una forma di poesia visiva né di una riflessione, ancorché tarda, sul rapporto tra realtà e sua rappresentazione: scritte, trame, intrecci, forme si danno come scrittura sulla pagina e concorrono alla definizione del “tutto”, dell’exemplum, sia esso reperto, campione enciclopedico, schema allegorico o altro. Trame e sottili intrecci che ci parlano di una fragile e quieta bellezza, richiamandoci ad una silenziosa lettura, aperti all’incanto poetico. Il risveglio della natura, il risveglio della coscienza. Linfa vitale.
